Joanne Hird
Intro
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps adults manage anxiety, burnout, and life transitions with clarity and confidence. Through my work in a hospital emergency department during the COVID pandemic, I saw how often seniors don’t feel heard and sometimes feel invisible. I bring a grounded, empathetic approach for clients navigating grief, caregiver burnout, and stress, and I work to create a space where you feel supported and understood. I’m known for expert listening, straightforward feedback, and a focus on results to help you create real, lasting change.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is practical, results-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based methods. I draw from an eclectic blend of Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Polyvagal Therapy to help clients achieve lasting results.
What should be expected in the first session?
Our first session will help us both understand whether our styles are a good fit for therapy. For therapy to be successful, we need a clear understanding of what you want and whether our goals align. We will also talk about how therapy works, what to expect moving forward, and begin identifying goals. You will leave with some actionable strategies to help you start feeling better quickly.
