Kimberly Arvin-Long
I am a deeply compassionate LCSW with backgrounds that include, but are not limited to, retirement and work transition, grief and loss, cognitive decline, veterans issues, spiritual counseling, and a specialization in mood disorders. I also have extensive experience providing family support. My practice is rooted in empathy, respect, and a genuine commitment to helping clients navigate challenging life experiences while building confidence, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I build rapport with each client and work with them to identify the best practice approaches that fit their needs. Together, we develop a treatment plan that reflects their goals, strengths, and priorities. I stay focused on the client’s treatment goals throughout our work and direct each session toward meaningful progress.
What should be expected in the first session?
In the first session, I focus on building rapport and understanding the client’s chief concern. I strive to create an open, welcoming, and trusting environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their story. Once the client is at ease, we begin identifying the key issues and exploring what they hope to achieve in therapy. From there, I help them set clear, measurable goals and objectives that guide the development of their individualized treatment plan.
