Mary Lentine
Intro
I believe those who seek therapy are courageous. I value trust and empathy, and I also value conveying a sense of hope for change and wellness. I am passionate and enthusiastic about my work with clients, and I strive to incorporate strengths rather than focusing solely on problems. I bring a breadth of experience, and I aim to be thoughtful and curious, using humor when appropriate. I have training in psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and work with substance use and mood disorders.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach in therapy is very relational. I value each person’s uniqueness. My desire is to help clients find change and healing. I am mindful of establishing a sense of connection and respect. My goal is to provide evidence-based practices that clients can engage with in a process that feels genuinely helpful.
What should be expected in the first session?
I engage in welcoming clients and gathering the history of what is troubling each individual. It is important to me to put clients at ease. I meet clients wherever they feel comfortable starting. It is my belief that we are a team when setting goals. I strongly encourage clients to ask me questions and to let me know if they feel uncomfortable.
