Sylvia Morris
My career began as a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology, where I witnessed firsthand the critical need for mental health care as part of holistic patient treatment. This realization inspired me to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. For over a decade, I’ve specialized in trauma, abuse, and PTSD, among other areas. Providing a safe, supportive space for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings is a profound honor I hold deeply.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to therapy is to create an open, safe environment where clients can explore and be curious without judgment. Everyone is unique and deserves to be treated as such. Modalities may include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, EMDR, and motivational interviewing. I also address challenges like depression, anxiety, and unhealthy coping patterns. It’s a privilege to help you move beyond painful cycles and find relief, because healing is possible.
What should be expected in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building trust. You’ll have time to share any questions, concerns, or apprehensions you may have. Together, we’ll identify your goals for therapy and any specific areas you’d like to focus on. We’ll also review consents, expectations, and any screenings completed prior to the session.
