Anthony Hoskins
Intro
I'm a licensed clinician and private practice therapist with decades of experience. I help people move from reacting to responding, especially when anger, anxiety, trauma, or low self-esteem are running the show. My work is practical, evidence-informed, and collaborative, with a strong focus on men's issues, substance use recovery, and healthier relationships. I help clients build emotional regulation skills, strengthen boundaries, and reconnect with their values so they can show up with more clarity, steadiness, and choice.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is warm, direct, and collaborative. I use evidence-informed strategies to help clients understand what drives their reactions, strengthen emotional regulation, and build healthier patterns in relationships. Together we identify core beliefs, triggers, and values, then practice practical tools for responding with clarity instead of reacting from stress or fear. I integrate trauma-informed care, cognitive and behavioral skills, and mindset work tailored to each person's strengths, culture, and goals. Progress is measured, realistic, and sustainable.
What should be expected in the first session?
In our first session, we'll focus on helping you feel comfortable and understood. I'll ask about what brings you in, what's been most difficult lately, and what you want to be different in your life. We'll review relevant history, including stressors, relationships, symptoms, coping strategies, and strengths, at a pace that feels safe. We'll also clarify goals, discuss confidentiality and logistics, and identify one or two practical steps you can start using right away. You'll leave with a clear plan.
