Dr. Nathan Ramirez
Intro
I am an early-career clinical neuropsychologist with extensive experience working with individuals across the lifespan, particularly focusing on older adults, both in clinical settings and through research. These experiences have fostered a deep passion for supporting older individuals as they navigate various challenges, striving to enhance their quality of life and well-being. I aim to provide evidence-based, compassionate care that promotes autonomy, dignity, and meaningful engagement, while addressing cognitive, emotional, and functional needs unique to aging.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I approach the clinical relationship with empathy and honesty, often incorporating appropriate humor and moments of poignancy. I tend to emphasize conversations focused on self-reflection and metacognitive processes. My ultimate goal is to help people feel genuinely validated while also fostering a strong sense of connection.
What should be expected in the first session?
The first session is usually less “therapeutic,” as the primary focus is on getting to know one another. This includes me learning about you, as well as giving you the opportunity to get to know me. Sessions often feel more conversational in nature, rather than like a structured interview.
