Lisa Smith
Intro
I work with adults across the lifespan and specialize in trauma, anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, and general distress that may not be tied to one specific cause. My goal is to help you feel safe in the therapy setting, deepen your self-understanding, make positive shifts, and feel clearer and more confident about your path moving forward.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is first and foremost person-centered and tailored to your unique needs. I most often use Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, alongside mindfulness and body-based interventions. Together, these approaches help you better understand your inner world and address the underlying struggles and conflicts contributing to present-moment distress.
What should be expected in the first session?
There is no rigid structure for the first session. The intake is an information-gathering conversation for both of us and an opportunity to see if working together feels comfortable and like a good fit. We’ll acknowledge your immediate concerns and begin to map out a thoughtful plan moving forward.
