Intro
After 30 years counseling and teaching in Africa, my wife and I returned to care for our parents in their 90s, and that experience strengthened my commitment to helping people heal through relationship. I am a compassionate, client-centered counselor who is relentlessly optimistic and intensely curious, and I believe what we focus on grows, so we focus on solutions. I genuinely believe in each person’s ability to grow, heal, and thrive, even when things feel difficult. I enjoy journeying with guests, and I’m comfortable integrating faith if it is important to you.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I believe healing takes place in relationships, and what we focus on grows, so let’s focus on solutions. Healing starts with sharing our story with good listeners, and while sharing we normally find things for which to be thankful. These are exceptions to the problem, and healing can take place when we do more of the exceptions.
What should be expected in the first session?
I look forward to meeting you and hearing the beginning of your story. As I hear your story, we’ll start to build relationship, and through building our relationship, healing takes place. Most of my patients start to find healing even in the first few sessions.
