Andrew Rice
Intro
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania with 13 years of clinical experience. My early counseling career was supporting adolescents as a School Counselor before expanding my counseling practice to working with adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about supporting individuals, partners, and families through the developmental life challenges older adults face with confidence and dignity, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, reflection of one’s life as a whole, and more.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is to offer warmth and compassion in an individually tailored modality that meets the specific needs of each client. I treat the client as the expert of their own life and build upon the unique strengths that have enabled them to navigate life up to this point. My goal is to work collaboratively to create meaningful goals with every client through an established, safe, and trusting relationship. Together, we will explore and address life difficulties with compassion and a shared commitment to clarity, meaningful change, and fulfillment.
What should be expected in the first session?
In our first session, I will begin the process of learning more about you, your unique story, and what caused you to reach out. I will explain what counseling looks like and answer any questions you have about the process or my approach. I will meet you where you are in your readiness to explore different areas of your life, and we will begin to discuss goals you would like to focus on in later sessions. My focus is for you to leave feeling that you do not have to face your past, current, or anticipated future challenges alone.
