Intro
My name is Sara Howard, and I live and work in Tucson, AZ. My love of psychology stems from a deep curiosity about how people adjust to challenging situations such as chronic illness, chronic pain, sleep issues, and life transitions. I am a board-certified rehabilitation psychologist. I work with people living with critical and chronic illnesses who are navigating adjustments in how they live, work, and engage in daily activities.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is tailored to each person I work with and varies depending on the challenges they are facing and the approaches that work best for them. As a rehabilitation psychologist, I tend to think outside the box, often working collaboratively with clients to find a modality that fits their needs rather than asking them to fit a specific modality. I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and clinical hypnosis.
What should be expected in the first session?
The first session is structured to discuss what brings you to therapy, how we might best approach working together, and give us a chance to ask each other questions to see if we would be a good fit.
