Intro

Hello and welcome! I'm Dr. Sharon Hopkins, and I have served in the mental health field for over 30 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have also earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have experience supporting individuals through grief, loss, depression, relationship, marital challenges, trauma, life transitions, and emotional stress. Over the past 3 years, I have worked with many seniors in nursing home settings. I believe that everyone deserves a safe and compassionate space to share their story without fear of judgment. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. We will work together to better understand your experiences, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move towards healing and personal growth. I am honored to walk alongside my clients during some of the most difficult moments and to help them discover hope, healing, and renewed strength.

How would you describe your approach to care?

My approach to care is centered on meeting clients where they are and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space for growth and self-discovery. I believe each person is an expert on their own life and I respect their right to make decisions at their own pace. While I provide encouragement, guidance, and an occasional gentle nudge when needed, I'm also honest and direct in helping clients recognize patterns, challenges, and opportunities for change. Together, we work toward meaningful and lasting growth.

What should be expected in the first session?

During your first session we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share any expectations you may have. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where we can begin building a plan that meets your unique needs.
