Intro
Welcome! I'm Emily Cole, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree in Counseling and Human Development. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges, rediscover their strengths, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I offer counseling services for adults, providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and practical change. I believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and genuine curiosity. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard while also being challenged to grow. Drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-based interventions, and motivational interviewing, I help individuals identify strengths, overcome barriers, and build meaningful, lasting change that aligns with their personal values and goals.
What should be expected in the first session?
During our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where you can begin sharing your story at your own pace. We will review important information about the counseling process, discuss what brought you to therapy, and explore the concerns, challenges, or goals that are most important to you. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, identify patterns and strengths, and work collaboratively with you to develop a meaningful plan for treatment.
