Helene Garrovillo
Intro
I received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have specialized training in Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I integrate these modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. I worked as a psychotherapist in community mental health and substance abuse treatment and collaborated with other holistic wellness professionals to facilitate regional and international retreats. Outside my work as a therapist, I enjoy playing the ukulele, exploring creativity in the kitchen, finding peace in nature, and reflecting on both scientific and spiritual perspectives that inspire my understanding of life and human consciousness. I meet with clients online and strive to create an atmosphere of trust and care. In this shared space, we work together to navigate challenges, strengthen inner resources, and move toward healing and growth in ways that feel meaningful to you.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is holistic and culturally responsive, honoring your unique story, background, and lived experiences. I help clients reflect on the stories they carry, which can open the door to growth. Recognizing the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit in the healing process, we'll focus on what matters most to you, set meaningful goals, and explore practical tools for lasting change. Above all, my intention is to provide a compassionate, welcoming space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to move toward greater meaning, resilience, and fulfillment.
What should be expected in the first session?
In your first session, you can expect a compassionate and welcoming space where you are invited to share your story at your own pace. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current challenges and strengths, and begin identifying meaningful goals for our work together. I take a holistic, culturally responsive approach that honors your lived experiences while helping you feel safe, understood, and supported as we begin the healing process.
