Dr. Jennifer Gillette
Intro
I have nearly 30 years of experience assessing and treating a wide range of cognitive and emotional symptoms. Supportive psychotherapy and cognitive performance optimization are offered for mild cognitive impairment, caregiver support, brain health and longevity, grief and loss, adjustment to disability, adjustment to aging, midlife stress, depression, anxiety, ADHD and executive dysfunction, and women's issues.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach combines empathy, curiosity, strong communication, attention to detail, sharp analytical skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning to understand complex brain-behavior relationships. My patient-centered approach makes my clients feel heard and validated, prioritizing their treatment goals. Our sessions will be collaborative and tailored to your pace.
What should be expected in the first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll start with a conversation about your current concerns, whether they involve mood, memory changes, stress, health issues, life transitions, or relationships. You're welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. I will also ask about your background, life experiences, and any major events that have shaped who you are, to better understand your strengths, challenges, and goals.
