Intro

Hello, I'm Amanda Hathcock, a Licensed Professional Counselor with years of experience working with older adults and the unique challenges that can come with aging. I provide a compassionate, respectful space to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, caregiver stress, and overall emotional well-being. When I'm not working, you'll often find me enjoying lakeshores or wooded trails, on foot or horseback!

How would you describe your approach to care?

My approach to care is warm, practical, and person-centered. I recognize that each individual brings a lifetime of experiences, strengths, and challenges into the counseling process. I work collaboratively with clients to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, caregiver stress, health-related changes, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you feel heard and respected while developing tools to improve emotional well-being and quality of life.

What should be expected in the first session?

During our first session, I'll ask questions to better understand your life experiences, including areas such as home, work, relationships, and the activities you enjoy. Together, we'll identify what brings you to counseling and begin outlining meaningful goals for our work. We will also leave the session with a practical action step to consider between appointments. I may guide the conversation more during our first meeting, while future sessions are shaped more by your priorities, experiences, and concerns.
