Intro

Welcome - I am Anissa and have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for over 20 years - I love my profession and am passionate about my work. Starting therapy is a brave and wonderful thing to do for yourself! I have been told I am trustworthy, empathetic, warm and compassionate. It is important for me to support YOU in reaching your goals!

How would you describe your approach to care?

I believe a good therapist helps you feel safe, understood, and respected while supporting you as you grow in ways that may feel challenging but are ultimately meaningful. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, Psychodynamic Therapy to explore unconscious patterns and the impact of early life experiences, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to encourage mindfulness and acceptance. I believe the most effective therapeutic approach is not one single method, but one that is thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs and goals.

What should be expected in the first session?

There is no rigid agenda for our first session, so please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We’ll take time to get to know each other, discuss the importance of confidentiality and its limits, and begin exploring what brings you to therapy. We can also talk about your goals and what you hope to gain from our work together.
