Intro

I'm Courtenay Collins, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I bring over 20 years of clinical experience to my work as a psychotherapist. I specialize in helping older adults navigate life's transitions. Sometimes that brings anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. I use proven approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Strengths-Based Treatment. My trauma-informed approach means you'll feel truly heard and never judged, from our very first session together. Wherever you are in this chapter of life, I'm here to help you move forward with confidence, resilience, and renewed hope.

How would you describe your approach to care?

My approach is warm, collaborative, and refreshingly direct. Your time is precious, so we'll get to what's actually on your mind. I want you to know that you are the expert on your own life; my job is to help you make sense of it and find the way forward. If I say something you don't agree with, please tell me — pushing back isn't rude, it's how we do the real work together. And I'll admit I'm plainspoken enough that a colorful word occasionally slips out, but you'll always leave our sessions feeling heard, respected, and a little more sure of yourself.

What should be expected in the first session?

Your first session is about getting to know you. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy and go over some background information together. From there, we'll map out the steps we'll take to help you feel better. Before we finish, I'll make sure you leave with something helpful — a simple tool or exercise to use until we meet again.
