Cynthia Cox
Intro
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 13 years of clinical experience working with diverse populations. My work has focused on supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges, military issues, as well as building self-esteem and improving overall functioning. I am passionate about helping individuals reach their goals, strengthen their sense of self, and improve their overall quality of life.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is collaborative and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. I believe that the client is the expert on themselves. I prioritize creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as CBT, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness to support insight, emotional regulation, and practical skill-building. I value meeting clients where they are and pacing the work appropriately. My goal is to assist clients in identifying the change needed to meet their goals through building resilience, improving functioning, and developing the tools needed to navigate challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.
What should be expected in the first session?
I would ask you about your goals and what you are wanting to change. I would want to know about your struggles. As a team we would create a plan and there would be homework identified from that.
