Intro
My name is Daniel, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) serving the behavioral health needs of my Maryland clients for 34 years. I have extensive experience serving clients through providing a unique "whole-person" perspective as an older adult therapist. Some clients describe my approach as practical, focused, and meaningful. Many of my clients are older adults living with depression, anxiety, grief, complex losses, trauma, significant life changes, and isolation. Still others are caregivers who benefit from needed support. My clients and I are a team. We work together to find solutions, improve mood, reduce anxiety, elevate hopefulness and strive to make a real difference in quality of life. The door is open - I'm here to help.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is team focused. I'm dedicated to getting to know my clients - their feelings, thoughts, life experiences, and what it means for them to be where they are on their journey - today and tomorrow. I am present, supportive and honor the privacy entrusted to me. I work with my clients to discover what thoughts and events affect their mood and may cause anxiety and distress, or how their health or medical or physical conditions may influence their emotional health, motivation and social needs. I guide therapy sessions to help individuals develop and apply practical skills for managing life’s challenges more effectively.
What should be expected in the first session?
Our first session is the building block to our work together as I seek to learn about you as a whole person, your history, stresses and most importantly your strengths. Learning what is important to you is a priority. Your goals for change and how you wish to improve your quality of life is part of that process. It is an honor for me to move from stranger to helper on this healing journey.
