Doris Lassiter
Intro
Hello, my name is Doris Lassiter. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. It is my goal to use my education and experience to support you with achieving your desired outcomes and overall wellness. I have experience in treating trauma, mood disorders, family issues, marriage issues, cognitive decline, bereavement, and age-related issues. I am highly motivated to support the clients I serve in achieving their therapeutic goals. I approach each session with unconditional positive regard, respect, compassion and positivity.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I am highly motivated and invested in supporting the people I serve with achieving higher levels of functioning and finding a resolution to the issues that caused them to seek therapy. In my approach, I begin with the initial assessment, where I identify the person's treatment goals, and formulate a treatment plan to support that person with achieving their goals. The therapeutic relationship is to foster growth, wellness, and greater life satisfaction. I am here to support each individual with kindness, warmth, and compassion as they work through the concerns that brought them to therapy, at a pace that feels right for them.
What should be expected in the first session?
When I do an introductory session, I begin with my assessment. I ask questions to help me identify the diagnosis and develop a treatment plan with specific goals. The assessment and treatment plan is about how you will be supported. You only share as much as you feel comfortable with. The initial assessment helps identify the framework of the therapeutic relationship. Therefore, I can ensure that I follow a treatment course that is appropriate and meets the needs of the individual that I am serving. During the first session, I am kind, gentle and altruistic.
