Intro

Psychotherapy is my second career. My first was as a Paramedic. I am now a Licensed Psychologist with over 30 years of experience, beginning as a clinical social worker and later becoming a psychologist. I feel fortunate to have found work I love, and both careers have given me unique perspectives on wellness that continue to shape my worldview and practice.

I’ve been married to my partner for almost 40 years. We don’t have children of our own, but we deeply treasure our relationships with our nieces and nephews. Now we’re proud great-aunts (yes, we are!).

I’m very much an outdoor gal and love being outside every chance I get. For me, nature is my church.

How would you describe your approach to care?

I look at life and therapy from a holistic perspective, meaning I see people, things, and the world not only as individual parts, but as a greater whole created when those parts come together. You are not just your mind, body, and spirit—you are, most importantly, YOU. I like therapy to be collaborative. I once heard that the best leader is one who leads from behind, and that’s the approach I aim to take. I bring expertise in psychology, but you are the expert on yourself. Together, we can work toward where you want to go and also find ways to enjoy where you are.

What should be expected in the first session?

In our first visit, we’ll take time to get to know each other. My focus will be on understanding who you are, what you’re looking for, and how I can help. We’ll mostly explore what’s happening now and what prompted you to reach out, while I’ll let you take the lead in sharing about the past. I’m also glad to share more about myself so you can get to know me too. If I have questions, I’ll ask, and I hope you will as well.
