Hello, my name is Dr. Ambroes Pass-Turner, and I am a Doctor of Counseling Psychology and Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I provide counseling services for clients experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use concerns, PTSD, and grief. My approach is client-centered, creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel heard, valued, and understood. I believe that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while integrating other evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. My goal is to empower clients with the tools, insight, and confidence needed to achieve meaningful and lasting positive change.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My goal is to create a counseling environment where clients feel safe and heard. The approach that I utilize is client centered because I want client to feel that they are the most important person in the session during therapy. Developing a relationship that foster change and insight is important for success in therapy.
What should be expected in the first session?
In our first session, the primary focus is developing rapport. We will explore why you are seeking therapy at this time. I will ask if you have any past mental health diagnoses. Furthermore, I will explore your relationship patterns and support system. I will educate clients on confidentiality and the counseling process.
