Intro

I am a licensed Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) psychologist with licensure in Florida and Arizona. I have extensive experience and a passion for working with older adults, tremendously respecting their extensive life experiences that make each individual unique. I believe lasting well-being is achieved through balance among five interconnected pillars: mind, body, emotions, spirit, and relationships. My approach integrates evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy with a compassionate, individualized perspective. I work collaboratively with clients to build insight, resilience, and meaningful change; helping them reconnect with their strengths and move toward a more fulfilling life by helping them meet their goals, improve the quality of their life, and empower them with the daily choices and struggles they are met with.

How would you describe your approach to care?

Psychotherapy and care is grounded in the belief that well-being emerges through balance and connection to self and others. Establishing an effective therapeutic relationship based on compassion and empathy in a safe environment is one of the most important factors to the therapeutic process. Utilizing evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic principles, focuses on fostering self-awareness, resilience, healing, and personal growth. The goal of psychotherapy and care is to help individuals identify strengths, overcome challenges, and develop a more centered, authentic, and fulfilling life.

What should be expected in the first session?

The first psychotherapy session focuses on building rapport, understanding client's concerns, and gathering relevant background information. The psychologist should discuss confidentiality, current symptoms, personal history, strengths, areas of difficulty, and treatment goals. Clients will have the opportunity to ask questions and share what they hope to achieve.
