Dr. Elizabeth Bennett
Intro
I am a clinical psychologist with a lifespan perspective. I believe therapy is a place to examine one's personal history while also facing life’s next challenge. I aim to help older adults experiencing life’s “third act.” I provide support to those facing family stress, caregiver demands, retirement shifts, personal loss, and even chronic health concerns. I believe every client deserves a therapist who is not only personable and authentic, but also scholarly and solution focused. As a family-trained provider, I welcome clients who need individual, couples, or family sessions.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I utilize interpersonal and cognitive approaches to assess and treat each individual. When working with families and couples, I strive to uphold enriching, respectful, and curative interactions. I routinely consider factors related to physical wellness and social support in my work as a therapist.
What should be expected in the first session?
In an initial session, I will engage in active listening to develop a deep understanding of your history and current challenges. I will explain your rights as my client, outline general goals for therapy, and invite you to ask any questions you may have about my approach.
