Intro

As a psychologist with more than 35 years of clinical experience, I understand that each stage of life brings unique opportunities, challenges, and changes. My knowledge of human development helps me recognize how past experiences can shape who you are today. Sometimes unresolved emotional wounds continue to influence the present, and together we can work to better understand those experiences, foster healing, and support meaningful growth.

How would you describe your approach to care?

I seek to understand the unique personality, life experiences, values, and developmental challenges of each person in my care. I strive to know you and your life story. Maya Angelou said: "There's no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." I agree. And I believe my job is to listen as you narrate your story, reflect it back, and assist you in finding the value and meaning — the wisdom — in your lived experiences. We'll name the painful experiences, name the ways in which you survived and take ownership of your strength and your resilience. Wisdom is the capacity to hold all of one's life with honesty, compassion, perspective, and acceptance. My job is not to give you wisdom but to help you recognize and honor your own.

What should be expected in the first session?

During our first session, we’ll begin building a conversation that continues naturally from week to week. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you as we get to know one another. I’ll invite you to share what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together. Before the end of our first session, we’ll develop goals to guide your care and create a path forward that reflects your needs.
