Intro

With more than 25 years of experience as a clinical social worker licensed in Ohio and Kentucky, I earned my master’s degree mid-career and my doctorate later in life. I enjoy supporting clients through life transitions, grief, loss, trauma, relationship changes, depression, anxiety, substance use, and self-esteem challenges. Together, we will take a holistic, strength-based approach to identify compassionate, practical solutions that support your overall well-being. My goal is to help you create a personalized plan that empowers you to achieve your quality-of-life goals.

How would you describe your approach to care?

My approach is one of working collaboratively with individuals to achieve well-being through emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual balance. This can be accomplished through developing insight and engaging in therapeutic relationships. My approach to therapy draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and relational therapy. I use experiential therapy techniques when applicable, such as the healing power of the natural world and animal-assisted therapy. Psychoeducation can also be part of therapy. Through building a trusting relationship where you feel safe to share your thoughts and emotions, together we can navigate life's transitions and build resilience.

What should be expected in the first session?

My approach to therapy is collaborative, with a focus on helping you achieve greater well-being through self-awareness, personal growth, and a strong therapeutic relationship. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and relational therapy. When appropriate, I also incorporate experiential techniques, including the healing power of nature and animal-assisted therapy. Psychoeducation may be integrated into our work to help you better understand yourself and your experiences. By building a trusting, supportive environment where you feel safe sharing your thoughts and emotions, we can work together to navigate life’s transitions and build lasting resilience.
