Dr. Lukasz Urban
Intro
Hi, my name is Lukasz, and I am passionate about helping people live an authentic and integrated life. With 18 years of clinical experience, I hope to create a warm, supportive space where you feel heard and understood, and where you can share your life experiences at your own pace. I also teach personality theory and assessment at Adler University part time, which I find to be very rewarding. Outside of work, I have two lovely daughters and enjoy spending time with them through activities like yoga, dancing, video games, and technology.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is integrative, anchored relationally in psychodynamic theory, with a strong focus on a humanistic perspective that considers mental wellbeing beyond illness. My goal is to help people experience the most meaningful and thriving life possible, while also building the strength to overcome obstacles that may surface along the way. I believe in empowering people and guiding them to recognize the strength within themselves to face life’s challenges.
What should be expected in the first session?
In the first session, expect me to be my authentic self with a genuine interest in your life story. In the beginning, treatment focuses on gathering your life story and assessing baseline mental wellbeing. This provides a structure for treatment and a clear, understandable direction to move toward mental wellness.
