Dr. Melissa Ketner
Intro
Hi! I’m Dr. Melissa Ketner, and I’m a clinical social worker in Indiana and Minnesota. I welcome you to work with me in therapy. I have 20 years of experience as a social worker and serve individuals and couples. I have worked in mental health, hospice, hospitals, private practice, and academic settings throughout my career. I also have expertise and lived experience in caregiving for individuals with oncology diagnoses, bipolar disorder, and Alzheimer’s disease, allowing me to walk beside those navigating the ups and downs of caring for a loved one with a chronic health condition.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I use behavior-based approaches like Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I will guide you in addressing the challenges in your life in a way that helps you move forward. I am warm and caring with a dose of humor.
What should be expected in the first session?
The first session will be a time for us to get to know one another. There will be several questions and areas for us to address, but I will take the time to partner with you in the process. We will also discuss any presenting mental health or addictions issues and to begin to discuss a plan for your therapy. I want to ensure your comfort and participation along the way!
