Intro

My name is Dr. Nicole Theiss Fogwell, and I am a licensed psychologist in Florida, as well as a PSYPACT-authorized provider serving clients in 42 states. I consider being a therapist both an honor and a privilege, and I am deeply passionate about my work. I truly enjoy getting to know my patients and value the opportunity to learn from each person’s life experience and perspective. I commonly work with individuals coping with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma-related concerns, and life transitions. Much of my background has been in hospital and medical settings, where I have worked extensively with individuals facing chronic or serious health conditions, as well as with their loved ones and caregivers. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the resilience people show when facing life’s greatest challenges and the importance of having compassionate support along the way.

How would you describe your approach to care?

My approach to therapy is open, authentic, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and strengths. I take time to truly understand and connect with my patients so that we can develop a shared understanding of your challenges—as well as your hopes, goals, and personal resources. In our work together, we will explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical strategies for coping with difficult emotions or life situations, and strengthen your ability to express and understand your thoughts and feelings. I also place great importance on helping you draw upon your own life experiences and inner strengths to support emotional well-being and a greater sense of balance.

What should be expected in the first session?

In our first session, we’ll take things at a comfortable pace and spend time getting to know one another. I’ll share a bit about my background and answer any questions you may have about me or about how therapy works. We’ll talk about what brought you here, a little about your personal history, and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. My goal is to create a warm, respectful space where you feel heard and supported. Together, we’ll begin developing a shared understanding of what therapy might look like for you and how we can work together to help you feel your best — emotionally, mentally, and in daily life.
