Dr. Sharon Picard
Intro
I am a Licensed Psychologist with a PSYPACT credential to practice telehealth psychology in 43 states. I have worked as a Licensed Psychologist for 26 years in a variety of settings and with a variety of clients. Main concerns that have brought individuals to therapy include anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sensory processing issues, grief, and relationship issues. My work with older adults has focused on pain management, adjusting to life transitions, relationship issues, and modifying lifestyles to pursue enjoyable activities.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I believe that therapy represents hope, optimism, and a chance to live fully in every moment we are given. When clients seek therapy services, they are taking steps to improve their emotional health. In turn, these steps can lead to positive changes in their physical, mental, and spiritual health. Therapy is a step toward making positive and lasting changes in one’s life, and I am honored to be a part of this process for my clients.
What should be expected in the first session?
In our first session, we will be getting to know each other and discussing your concerns. We will also discuss the treatment process and what you can expect. The first therapy appointment can be anxiety-provoking for some clients, and I try to create a space where you can feel relaxed and comfortable talking about your thoughts and feelings. When you leave the first appointment, I want you to feel calm, optimistic, and positive about our future work together.
