Dr. Sonali Gupta
Intro
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist who has had the privilege of working alongside clients for over 22 years. I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and strive to offer a safe, respectful space where you can feel understood and supported. I have specialized training in helping individuals who have experienced trauma, as well as those struggling with loss and grief. My additional areas of expertise include mood-related concerns, such as depression and anxiety, as well as relationship issues and life transitions.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is compassionate and empathic, respects your autonomy, and focuses on addressing your specific concerns. I honor the resilience and strengths that each individual brings to their therapy and work collaboratively to identify solutions and approaches to resolve concerns. I focus not only on treatment, but also on prevention which allows for sustainable, long-term well-being.
What should be expected in the first session?
In our first session, I'll invite you to share your concerns and what you hope to gain from therapy. I'll also want to gain an understanding of you as a whole person and will ask a variety of questions to better understand your life and experiences. Together, we'll develop a thoughtful plan for addressing your concerns in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable for you. I also hope this first session gives you a chance to see whether working together feels comfortable and like a good fit for you.
