Dr. Stacy Bray
Intro
I have worked as a Licensed Psychologist in rural areas of Missouri for 25 years. I have exclusively worked with adults including veterans of the armed services in a wide variety of challenging life situations and with a broad array of mental health concerns. I have worked with those who are facing challenging medical conditions such as chronic pain, weight management, diabetes, and organ transplant.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I approach each client as the unique individual they are. The foundation of my therapy approach is generally cognitive (how one thinks) and behavioral (what one does), but it's important to include all relevant aspects of the person such as personal history, experiences, and religious beliefs as they contribute to overall well-being. I work to make you know that you are seen, heard, and respected so that you know you are safe to let yourself explore the difficulties you are facing.
What should be expected in the first session?
Our first session will be us talking and getting to know each other. I will be answering the questions you have of me as a psychologist and what to expect from the therapy process. We will be talking about you, your situation, your symptoms, and your history that you are comfortable sharing that first visit.
