Dr. Stephanie Hajduk
Intro
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who provides telehealth therapy for individuals facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings with individuals navigating different stressors and disorders, from developmental work with infants and toddlers at Children’s National Medical Center to therapy with adults in my own private practice. I have also worked in both rural and urban areas, which has given me the opportunity to support individuals from many ethnicities, cultures, religions, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic backgrounds. When I’m not working, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling and exploring new places, and being outdoors with my husband and dog, in sunshine or snow.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I use an integrative approach in therapy, which allows me to tailor treatment to each individual rather than to a diagnosis. It takes a great deal of trust to open up about your struggles, and I aim to provide a safe space for exploration and nonjudgmental feedback through compassion, empathy, and humor. Whatever your stress, and wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to navigate this path alone. My approach combines psychological techniques with empathy and, when relevant, lived experience.
What should be expected in the first session?
During our first session together, I focus on getting to know you, your current concerns, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to gain. There’s no pressure to share everything at once, and we go at your pace. I’ll also explain how future sessions work, confidentiality policies and procedures, and answer any questions you may have.
