Intro

Hello, I'm Dr. Sunni Lampasso. I have been a psychologist for more than 20 years, and much of my career has been dedicated to supporting older adults as they navigate life's challenges. I have extensive experience working in skilled nursing facilities, helping individuals navigate chronic, acute, and progressive illnesses; changes in memory and cognition; and the emotional impact of physical and cognitive decline. I know that aging often brings unexpected transitions, including retirement, grief, caregiving responsibilities, health concerns, and changes in independence. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward with confidence.

How would you describe your approach to care?

I believe that every person's story is unique, and I tailor therapy to meet your individual needs, values, and goals. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques to help you manage stress, cope with change, and build emotional resilience. Together, we'll work on practical strategies for navigating difficult emotions, adapting to life's transitions, and focusing on what matters most to you. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative environment where you feel respected, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.

What should be expected in the first session?

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another and talking about what has brought you to therapy. I'll want to understand your current concerns, your personal history, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to know exactly where to begin. My role is to listen carefully, answer your questions, and help us create a plan that feels comfortable, meaningful, and tailored to your needs.
