Dr. William Jones
Intro
Before becoming a psychologist, my work as a performing artist, corporate trainer, and doctoral psychology department chair immersed me in the full spectrum of human emotion, ambition, vulnerability, and resilience. These experiences strengthened my ability to understand complex personalities, connect authentically with diverse individuals, and appreciate how life experiences shape identity. They fostered a deep respect for human nature and prepared me to meet people with curiosity, compassion, insight, and understanding.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to treatment is grounded in the principles of depth psychology and informed by the work of pioneers such as Freud, Jung, William James, Maslow, and Rogers. I believe that anxiety often reflects deeper emotional conflicts, unmet needs, and unconscious patterns that influence daily life. Through a collaborative, insight-oriented process, I help clients explore both conscious and unconscious experiences, uncover the roots of their distress, and cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, meaning, and lasting psychological growth.
What should be expected in the first session?
During our first session, my primary goal is to get to know you—not only the challenges that brought you to therapy, but also the experiences, relationships, strengths, and life events that have shaped who you are. Together, we will explore your personal history with curiosity, compassion, and respect, seeking to understand both the visible and underlying influences on your emotional well-being. This conversation lays the foundation for meaningful insight, healing, and lasting personal growth.
