Intro

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Texas and have been in private practice since 2004 providing talk therapy and mental health consultation, with extensive experience serving individuals in long-term care and assisted living communities throughout rural East Texas. One of the positive outcomes of the pandemic was the expansion of telehealth, making it easier than ever for people to access the support they need from wherever they are. I believe everyone can benefit from having a compassionate, nonjudgmental professional to talk with. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you are treated with dignity, respect, and genuine care as we work together toward your goals. Outside of therapy, I enjoy Downton Abbey, The Gilded Age, Bridgerton, and most sci-fi—I’m a proud Star Trek fan! I also share my home with Miley Cyrus, my cat, who definitely came in like a wrecking ball. After 34 years, I remarried my soulmate. Together, we have two daughters, one bonus daughter, two bonus sons, and seven great-grandchildren.

How would you describe your approach to care?

Meeting and getting to know someone new to you can be a difficult task, but looking for someone that can help you, now THAT provokes some anxiety! It is part of my job to put you at ease and create a safe, comfortable environment, where you can say anything on your mind! You are a person of worth and dignity, and you deserve someone that will not only listen, but hear you and accept you, for who you are and how you are, I will celebrate your uniqueness! Today can be your new day!

What should be expected in the first session?

Warmth, welcoming, acceptance, kindness, and unconditional positive regard. The first session is to give you hope, excited about beginning a relationship that will be supportive, and helps me begin to gather an idea of how you need me to help you. We will share, interact, and hopefully you will feel like you just met your new best friend that has special knowledge to help you find your ultimate happiest, best life.
