Intro

Hello! I'm Elizabeth, but you can call me Betsy! I am a licensed clinical social worker with decades of experience in healthcare, specifically enjoying serving and supporting people as they age. My passion is working with people with cognitive impairments. The best part of aging for me has been getting to know and trust myself more. It's never too late to reinvent yourself and I love to keep learning and doing.

How would you describe your approach to care?

My approach to therapy is to be a safe space for you to support and encourage you in ways you might not have thought to do for yourself. Sometimes I will ask hard questions and sometimes we might laugh through sessions because both humor and hard work go a long way. My modes of therapy include ACT and some CBT. I am solution focused and my hope for you is to get you to a point that you can take what we did together and fly.

What should be expected in the first session?

During our first session I want to learn about you and what brought you to therapy. I will ask about prior experiences in a therapeutic setting and what you feel is your preferred method of learning. I love working with people and learning all about them. My belief is that treating the whole person is the best way to manage so many of today's mental health issues like anxiety and depression, grief and life transitions.
