Holly Wilson
Intro
My name is Holly Wilson and I've been a social worker for over 35 years. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina, Iowa, Maryland and Florida. My career has primarily focused on working in oncology and Hospice. Common concerns that I have worked with include Anxiety, Depression, Caregiver Stress and Chronic Pain, as well as self esteem issues and setting limits. I thoroughly enjoy seeing progress as a person's mood or self care improves. The last 5 years I did telehealth therapy with another company. I enjoy integrating spirituality into therapy, and working with people who are LGBTQIA is one of my niches.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is to lead with warmth, care and compassion. I believe in taking time to get to know you and offering unconditional positive regard. I work with people on setting small, attainable goals to build motivation. I believe in building a trusting relationship where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions. I also enjoy using humor sometimes.
What should be expected in the first session?
I will introduce myself and discuss what we will talk about, and explain where I'm calling from. I encourage people to ask questions about the process or what will happen next. We will discuss what brought you to therapy. I believe in moving at your pace. We will talk about how therapy works and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you.
