Jada April-Brown
Intro
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience providing therapeutic services across diverse settings. My educational background provides a strong clinical foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I specialize in working with older adults, using a strengths-based, whole-person-centered approach to promote emotional wellness, resilience, and an improved quality of life.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is strengths-based, whole-person-centered, and grounded in compassion and respect for each individual's lived experience. I focus on understanding the full context of a client's life, including emotional, physical, and psychosocial factors, to provide meaningful and individualized support. I incorporate modalities such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients build practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and navigate life transitions. Working with older adults, I prioritize dignity, autonomy, and connection, while supporting clients through challenges such as chronic illness, grief, and aging-related changes.
What should be expected in the first session?
In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive space where we begin getting to know each other. I'll ask about your concerns, background, and what you hope to gain from therapy, while reviewing confidentiality and answering any questions. Together, we'll identify initial goals, moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to share everything at once—this is your space.
