Janine Pearce-Vasquez
Intro
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 30+ years of experience working in health and human services in Colorado. I have worked with a wide range of populations, including children and older adults, and I am deeply committed to helping clients and their families cultivate healthy lifestyles. My approach is solution-focused and builds on your strengths, natural and community supports, and opportunities for positive change.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is to actively engage and listen to your concerns and hopes for therapy, and to cooperatively develop and evaluate ongoing treatment goals, objectives, and interventions. Being person-centered and solution-focused, I believe you already have insight and the ability to create a more peaceful, healthy, and productive life. I also believe in building a trusting relationship where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions openly and decide the trajectory of your life.
What should be expected in the first session?
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and discuss what brought you to therapy. This is a relaxed, supportive conversation, there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. We’ll also talk about how therapy works, what to expect moving forward, and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. My priority is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and at ease as we start this journey together, at your own pace.
