Intro
Hello, my name is Jeanine Thomas, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California and Missouri. I have 20 years of experience and I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, isolation, and loneliness. I have a passion for working with and advocating for older adults and veterans, and my lived experience has provided me with a unique lens for understanding trauma and loss. I am committed to channeling this passion into rigorous clinical practice, utilizing evidence-based therapies to help my clients heal, grow, and maintain their quality of life.
How would you describe your approach to care?
Every person requires a unique roadmap to healing. I blend evidence-based clinical strategy with deep emotional safety by using an integrative toolkit. If you are carrying the weight of trauma, navigating the deep waters of grief, or feeling exhausted by anxiety and caregiving, you do not have to walk this path alone. I provide a warm, deeply validating, and culturally affirming space where adults of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences are fully welcomed. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I combine the healing power of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. Together, we will honor your unique identity and resilience, rewrite painful patterns, and build a meaningful path forward at your own pace.
What should be expected in the first session?
A first session may seem a little overwhelming and can sometimes produce feelings of anxiety and that is normal. Or, you may feel excited and eager to get started. Our first session will be spent getting to know one another and I will be asking questions to learn more about you. The first session is also an interview for you. It's a chance for you to see if my conversational and clinical style feels like a good fit for your needs. Together, we will outline what you hope to get out of our time together and begin building a roadmap for your healing.
