Intro
I am a small-town Nebraska girl, who loves working with older diverse populations. I have 30 years of experience as a social worker and mental health therapist. I am licensed in Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas. I grew up in a home that loved visiting with everyone and offering support. My father was a physical therapist by trade, and my mother was a surgical nurse. Helping people was always our passion. I have worked with all mental health disorders including anxiety, depression and trauma. I feel that not enough of our attention is paid to the mental health community and I would like to help change that for the good.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I meet clients where they are. I strive to personalize my relationship with each client. Life can throw a lot of things at us, and I want to build a rapport and walk side by side with my clients. Everyone has their own story and needs. I want to learn about those needs and help the best way I can, involving the client in every step of the process from beginning to end.
What should be expected in the first session?
I am very laid back and enjoying learning about my clients in the first few sessions. I want to learn about their goals with therapy. I want this to be a good fit for them.
