Intro
Hi, my name is Miko Masterson, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work with a specialization in Clinical Aging. My counseling style is authentic, and I bring my humanity into the counseling process. Many clients tell me that I exude warmth and joy, and that they can tell that I truly care about them. I believe this is what sets me apart from others who do similar work.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I recognize that the step towards change is a big one and takes a lot of courage and strength. I will work with you to build trust and walk alongside you as together we discover your strengths and work towards lasting change. I have 24 years experience, and have worked with many older adults around issues of depression, anxiety, life transitions, family dynamics and grief and loss.
What should be expected in the first session?
I believe that relationships are vitally important. From our first session, I will work to build your trust and to join with you as you journey towards the life you want to have. It matters to me that you feel safe and comfortable, and I will work with you early on to bring any uncomfortable symptoms under control. Respect will be at the forefront of our work together, and we will move at a pace that is comfortable to you.
