Myra Brooks
Intro
I am a dedicated and energetic therapist with 25 years of experience helping people. I have master’s degrees in counseling and clinical social work. I am licensed in Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin to provide mental health and substance use treatment to individuals, couples, and families. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, mood swings, grief, aging, health concerns, relationship issues, and trauma. I am passionate about helping people find ways to improve their daily life, self-esteem, and primary relationships.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I am a genuine and collaborative therapist. I believe that every person is the expert on themselves. We will work together to understand your challenges and meet your goals. I work for you, and we will always work at your pace. My job is to help you recognize your strengths, organize your supports, and build new skills to cope with whatever difficulties you face.
What should be expected in the first session?
Our first session will be an opportunity to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. We will talk about what motivated you to consider therapy and what you would like to see change in your life. We will discuss the therapy process, confidentiality, scheduling preferences, and past therapy experiences. We will connect as human beings and begin our collaborative working relationship. I will answer any questions you have about the virtual therapy process so you can feel comfortable moving forward.
