Pamela Kay
Intro
Greetings! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Michigan with over 30 years of clinical experience. More recently, my work has focused on supporting older adults as they explore thoughts and feelings around current life challenges. Common concerns I have helped with include depression and anxiety, grief, low self-worth, and adapting to the changes life brings. I enjoy helping each person define and build on their strengths, and learn effective ways to let go of pain that can stand in the way of contentment and joy.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach is patient, calm, relational, and collaborative. I believe healing happens in a space where you feel heard, safe, and understood, so I work at your pace while gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you. I integrate evidence-based techniques with a compassionate style to help you feel supported as you grow.
What should be expected in the first session?
The first session focuses on building rapport and learning about you and your reasons for seeking counseling. You can begin wherever feels right, whether that’s what happened today or your broader story. I’ll also ask questions about your personal history and current life. We’ll talk about how therapy works, what to expect moving forward, and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you.
