Shawn Greer
Intro
Hi, I’m Shawn Greer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in behavioral health and care coordination across complex healthcare systems. I specialize in supporting older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, and loss. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and grounded in practical strategies such as CBT and motivational interviewing. I value building strong therapeutic relationships and creating a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and person-centered. I believe in meeting clients where they are, and creating a safe, supportive space where they feel heard and respected. I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify strengths, build practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful goals that support emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
What should be expected in the first session?
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive conversation focused on getting to know them and understanding what brings them to therapy. We’ll review important background information, discuss current concerns, and talk about goals for treatment. I also make time for clients to ask questions and learn more about my approach. The first session is about building comfort and trust, while beginning to identify helpful next steps for moving forward.
