Intro
Hello, I'm Ta'Meka Gethers, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I enjoy helping adults navigate life's challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, caregiving responsibilities, chronic health concerns, and major life transitions. I believe it is never too late to discover meaningful well-being, strengthen coping skills, and find renewed purpose. My goal is to provide a supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to move forward with confidence.
How would you describe your approach to care?
My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual's unique experiences and goals. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy to help clients manage emotional challenges, build resilience, and improve overall well-being. I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore concerns, identify strengths, and develop practical strategies for meaningful and lasting change.
What should be expected in the first session?
During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what led you to seek therapy. We will explore your current concerns, personal strengths, life experiences, and goals for treatment. There is no pressure to share everything at once. My goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel respected, understood, and confident that we can work together to address the challenges that matter most to you.
